BIOGRAPHY

Mike Marcantel has been drawing since he was old enough to hold a pencil. He became an editorial cartoonist at 15 and a technical illustrator at 17. He's studied Fine Arts, worked in art galleries, painted storefronts on Melrose Avenue, billboards for Tower Records on the Sunset Strip, and done character design and animation for video games.

Mike has a BFA degree in Film/Video from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where he studied in the Experimental Animation/Motion Graphics program under Jules Engel.

Mike has worked on The Simpsons since 1991 as a character layout artist, storyboard artist, assistant director, and director. He's also worked on Futurama, Beavis and Butt-Head, the UK animated series Full English, and the upcoming Sausage Party TV series. Mike has worked at numerous studios such as Film Roman, Rough Draft, Bento Box and Fox TV Animation.
